AKH A socially responsible corporate citizen
AKH voluntarily involves itself in some social welfare activities. It dedicates a portion of its profit to run an educational institution and an orphanage. In the same way, it organizes free plastic surgery camps as well as eye camps for the underprivileged people in the remote areas of the country. It conducts relief programs for the natural calamity hit people also. AKH and its directors have active engagement in several other community development and welfare activities as well.
Since 2005, at Dhuldi in Faridpur, AKH has been running an orphanage named Holland Children house. Presently home to about 200 underprivileged children, it promises equal opportunity for all of it charges with no privilege and prejudice to any color, race, religion or any other ethnic or socioeconomic identity.
For people suffering the agony of mouth and facial deformities as well as ocular problems just because they cannot meet the cost of treatment, AKH organizes free plastic surgery and eye camps every year. Noted overseas practitioners and surgeons too offer their voluntary services at these camps. In the year 2010, about 250 people received plastic surgery treatment and about 200 people got eye camp services.
AKH is involved with the Australian International School also. Here at Gulshan, Dhaka, about 220 students are receiving quality education. It is an undergraduate education institution.
